Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Executive Assistant Job Description

Location

Series B Healthcare AI Company | Remote or Austin, TX | Full-Time

ABOUT THE COMPANY

A well-funded, production-stage healthcare AI company working with some of the largest health plans in the U.S. Not a pilot. Not a proof of concept. Live deployments in regulated payer environments, solving real administrative workflow problems across prior authorization, clinical review, and claims.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a hands-on engineering role, not a consulting role and not a pre-sales role.
You will deploy the platform directly inside customer environments, healthcare payers and providers, building and customizing the components needed to make it work. You will work alongside Solutions Architects and Solutions Engineers to take customers from discovery to live production, typically within 60 days.
You will write code. You will build integrations. You will configure and fine-tune AI components for specific customer use cases. You will also engage directly with customers to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
If you need a lot of structure and process to be productive, this is not the right role. If you work well in ambiguity, move fast, and can operate as an engineer and a customer-facing professional, this may be a strong fit.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Strategy & Campaigns

  • Build and customize full-stack components, APIs, and workflow orchestrations to integrate the platform into customer systems, including EHRs and claims platforms
  • Configure and fine-tune LLMs and ML models for healthcare-specific use cases like prior authorization and care management audit
  • Deploy across SaaS and VPC environments, maintaining reliability and compliance
  • Translate customer business requirements into technical specs and define deployment success criteria
  • Work directly with customer stakeholders to explain technical concepts clearly

Operations & Automation

  • Build and optimize marketing automations and lifecycle workflows in HubSpot
  • Establish KPI frameworks and reporting structures that create accountability
  • Audit process adherence across Asana, HubSpot, and related platforms
  • Own campaign templates, assets, and process documentation
  • Translate strategy into concrete timelines and execution plans
    Analytics & Reporting
  • Present weekly marketing updates to executive leadership and department heads
  • Report on campaign ROI, budget utilization, and performance learnings
  • Deliver sponsor-facing analytics that support storytelling and fulfillment
  • Use performance data to continuously optimize engagement and conversion

Team Leadership

  • Manage and develop direct reports through coaching and consistent feedback
  • Host weekly 1:1s and lead department-wide priority and alignment meetings
  • Create operational clarity in a fast-moving environment

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 2 to 5 years of software engineering experience
  • Strong Python skills; experience with web frameworks and API design
  • Foundational understanding of LLMs, NLP, and data preprocessing
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization
  • Ability to engage directly with customers and non-technical stakeholders
  • Healthcare domain experience is a meaningful advantage
  • Startup or fast-moving environment experience is strongly preferred

A NOTE ON EXPERIENCE LEVEL

The team has found that engineers in the 2 to 5 year range tend to adapt fastest to how software is built today, using AI coding tools, moving quickly, and operating without heavy process. Engineers with deep legacy habits have struggled in this environment. If you have 7 or 8+ years but have stayed current with modern AI-assisted development workflows, that context will matter in the conversation.
